COMPOSITION:
Each 100g Ointment contains 100mg Mometasone Furoate.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Like other topical corticosteroids، MOTASONE has anti-inflammatory، anti-pruritic and vasoconstrictive properties. However، corticosteroids are thought to act by the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins، which called lipocortins. These proteins control the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandin and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor arachidonic acid (Arachidonic acid is released from membrane’s phospholipids by phospholipase A2).
INDICATIONS:
MOTASONE ointment is indicated for the relief of inflammatory، pruritic and manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatosis such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
USAGE:
MOTASONE ointment: Apply a thin layer to the affected skin areas once daily.
SIDE EFFECTS:
It includes burning، pruritus، tingling or stinging and signs of skin atrophy.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to active material، other corticosteroids or any component of the product. It’s also contraindicated in bacterial، viral and fungal infections.
PRECAUTIONS:
Prolonged use of topical corticosteroids can produce reversible hypothalamic pituitary adrenal suppression.
If irritation or sensitization develops with the use of the product، treatment should be discontinued.
If concomitant skin infections are presented or developed، an anti-fungal or anti-bacterial agent should be used. If a favorable response dose not occurs promptly، use of the product should be discontinued until the infection has been adequately controlled.
The product is for external use. Avoid contact with the eyes.
This medication should not be used for any disorder other than for which it was prescribed.
This medication could be used on the face، under arms or groin areas only on the advice of the physician.
It’s not recommended to cover the affected treated area.
USE IN PREGNANCY OR LACTATION:
The product should be used during pregnancy or lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk.
