COMPOSITION:
Each tablet contains 7.5mg Sennoside B.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
The physiological action of SENNOS is virtually colon specific. SENNOS is protected by a natural sugar moiety which safeguards its transport to the large bowel، where bacterial action breaks the sugar anthrone bond and releases the active fraction. Peristalsis is then stimulated via the submucosal. As SENNOS is colon specific، it doses not affect the vital nutritional functions of the upper gastro-intestinal tract.
INDICATIONS:
In the management of constipation، which including:
Simple constipation.
Constipation in old age، especially where maintenance treatment is required.
Constipation during pregnancy and lactation.
Constipation due to slowness of peristalsis، and constipation in the irritable bowel syndrome.
Conservative treatment of hemorrhoids.
Avoidance of straining after surgery and in cerebral and cardiovascular disease.
DOSAGE:
The dose determines individually. The correct dose is the smallest required to produce a comfortable soft-formed motion. The dose should be taken with some water or juice.
Children Over 6 Years: 1-2 tablets in the morning.
Adults: 2-4 tablets at bedtime.
Once regularity has been achieved، dosage should be reduced and can usually be stopped. If no response has occurred after three progressive days، a medical examination should be considered.
Diabetic patients can use SENNOS as it has a negligible sugar content.
SIDE - EFFECTS:
Temporary mild griping may occur during adjustment of dosage.
CONTRA - INDICATIONS:
Undiagnosed a cute or persistent abdominal symptom.
USE IN PREGNANCY OR LACTATION:
SENNOS can be used in pregnancy and lactation according to physician consultant.
